There are different seasons of man’s life. We have:
The Toddler Age
The Childhood Age
The Teenage Age
The Youthful Age
The Adulthood Age
The Oldie Age
Each of these Ages has its own peculiar features and contributory implications on man’s whole lifespan.
I want to address you as a TEENAGER. I hope I am right? If not, please tell me.
What are some of the features of this season of your life that I desire you reckon with here now?
- You are not a child, yet you are not an adult! You are tempted to be treated as an adult but, really, you are a child!
- You are becoming self-conscious or very conscious of your personality. You are tempted to display your “self”!
- You are beginning to crave independence – even from your parents! You are tempted to “want to be yourself”!
- You are beginning to exercise your power of choice in the midst of conflicting options. You are tempted to go for the common attractions, often without knowing or weighing the deep implications – good and evil!
- The power of influence – from diverse models, from friends, from society at large, etc. begins to have real hold on your personality. You are tempted to “innocently” fall for powerful corrupting but covert influences!
- Fundamentally, the foundation of the future is usually laid at this stage of life – e.g., social inclination, religious inclination, view of marriage, career direction, etc.
The major implication of this age of life is its telling impact of the personality and what become of a man’s future destiny. What we know or know not, do or do not at this stage of life is capable of making or marring a man’s life. Who we align our life with at this stage of life will go a long way in what our future turns out to be. Most essentially, this is the season of life that the contest between GOD and SATAN over the ownership of man’s life is hottest. Who wins here may likely be the winner all of life!
Therefore, the most critical choice, that which bears heavily on others, is in the answer to “Who wins your life?”. Herein is my counsel: LET GOD INTO YOUR LIFE. LET HIM WIN YOU FOR EVER. Make the choice to heed the counsel in the word of God that says,
“Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”: (Eccl. 12:1, NKJV)
